Why The Sacramento Kings Do The Deal 

Obviously, this is a major all-in push for the Kings. 

It comes with a risk. They’re giving up a tremendous haul of draft capital to bring in LaVine here. They’d have to be confident that doing so would make them playoff locks. 

They should be. LaVine and De’Aaron Fox would make for the most athletic backcourt in the NBA. The two combined would put constant pressure on the rim. 

Meanwhile, LaVine’s ability to space the floor would maximize Sabonis’ playmaking as well.

In fact, his impact both on and off the ball makes him an easy player to work into any system. Adding LaVine would make the Kings better immediately.
