Why The Los Angeles Clippers Do The Deal 

Players who can shoot and defend can always co-exist. That doesn’t always mean they should. 

Part of the Warrior’s motives here would be breaking up the George and Kawhi Leonard duo. Green gives them more playmaking at the expense of shot creation. This diversifies their attack. 

Of course, it may not make them better at the moment. After all, they’re losing the best player in the deal. For the Clippers, this could be part of a two-year plan. 

In that event, they won’t be keeping Kuminga, Moody, or the first-round pick. In time, they’ll be trading them for another star.

Then, they’ll have added Green and that star for the price of George. 

In other words, they’d be setting themselves up to shock the world again.
