Why The Charlotte Hornets Do The Deal
Many expected the Hornets to upgrade their center rotation this summer. With that said, this wasn’t the upgrade most had in mind.
The Hornets could have, for example, traded for Myles Turner. They also could have made a smaller acquisition like Nerlens Noel. Instead, they opted to draft Duke big man Mark Williams.
Of course, there’s a common theme among all three of those players. They’re quality defensive bigs. On the other hand, Towns is not one. Here’s a question: Who cares?
Towns and Ball could be the best offensive duo in the NBA. The Hornets will struggle to get stops, but they should be able to outscore opponents fairly regularly following this deal.
