Why The Indiana Pacers Do The Deal 

This may not be the package some would have in mind for the Pacers. 

Yes, Anunoby is older than Turner – but barely. At 25, he’s only two years his senior. That doesn’t necessarily qualify as a future-focused package for the Pacers. 

At the same time, the Pacers aren’t your ordinary NBA franchise. They generally avoid wholesale rebuilding processes. Moreover, at 5-6 this season, they don’t appear to be strong candidates to join the great tank-off for Victor Wembanyama this season. 

By that logic, Anunoby is still a solid acquisition for them. Moreover, this deal opens up a starting position for promising young big man Isaiah Jackson.
