Every hero needs a sidekick. Batman and Robin. Wallace and Gromit. Even the supposedly “Lone” Ranger had Tonto. NBA stars need sidekicks as well.

Even the best players in the NBA are unlikely to win NBA championships without a co-star. With very few exceptions, the team that wins the title features at least two star players.

Normally, one is distinctly second in the pecking order – but they still need to be far more impactful than an average NBA player. 

Apparently, nobody told the Dallas Mavericks. As constructed, it’s hard to identify a sidekick for Luka Doncic on this roster. Realistically, the Cavs will need to land him one if they’re hoping to make a run at the NBA title any time soon.
