Why The Sacramento Kings Do The Deal 

We wouldn’t suggest the Kings make this trade right away. They still have time to turn this season around. 

At the same time, if they continue to lose, they may have to make some difficult decisions. On the other hand, there’s a silver lining in any decision to steer away from win-now mode: especially with the upcoming draft. 

If the Kings are one of the worst teams in the NBA this year, the upcoming draft looks like one of the best in recent memory. One more losing season would be difficult to swallow, but the consequences could certainly be direr at the same time. 

Moreover, the Kings may actually need guard depth more than they need Barnes. That holds especially true in light of the emergence of Keegan Murray.
