San Antonio Spurs Receive: C Richaun Holmes, G Davion Mitchell 

In some ways, these two organizations could not be any different. 

The San Antonio Spurs are accustomed to success. From the late 90s into the mid-10s, they had a lot of it. In fact, the Spurs won 5 championships over that stretch, and never missed the playoffs. 

With that said, their consistency has waned in recent years. In fact, the Spurs haven’t been to the postseason in three seasons. They’d have every right to complain, but they might not want to vent to Sacramento Kings fans.

In all likelihood, those complaints would fall on deaf ears.

After all, the Kings haven’t been to the playoffs in 16 seasons. That isn’t just a drought – it’s the longest one in NBA history. This year, the Kings were supposed to break that drought. 

Could acquiring McDermott be a step towards doing so?
