The Ben Simmons experience hasn’t necessarily been a pleasant one for the Brooklyn Nets. Don’t be surprised if they call it off sooner than later.
In fact, the rumors are already circulating. Recently, it’s been speculated that the Nets have been in discussions with a Western Conference team about Simmons that would bring them a “veteran shooter” in return. Could that team be the Houston Rockets?
We’re not sure. On the other hand, it would make sense if it was. After all, the Rockets could probably use a point guard. They’ve been running Kevin Porter Jr. at that position for some time. He’s talented, but he seems best suited for off-guard duties.
By contrast, Simmons may have limitations, but he can certainly orchestrate an offense.

Meanwhile, the contending Nets may be tired of those limitations. This deal lands them a quality floor spacer and shot creator in Gordon and a nice defensive wing in Tate.
Finally, it lands them a selection in that upcoming draft as well. Since it belongs to the Bucks, it won’t net them Wembanyama or Henderson. It’s still better than nothing.
