Why The Orlando Magic Do The Deal 

Bazley may be rawer than Bamba, but he’s also three years younger at 21. That’s a large part of why the Magic do this deal. They’re bad – why not get younger? 

Meanwhile, Bamba’s place on this team was already in question. After all, they clearly favor Wendall Carter Jr. On the other hand, with Bol Bol emerging in 2022-23, Bamba really looks like an odd man out. 

If he is, the Magic ought to move him. Meanwhile, Bazley has shown some upside – he’s got the athletic tools to be an impactful defender in this league.

With some polish, he just may become one.
