The 2022-23 season of the NBA is here with us and once again amidst the entertainment packed in the top basketball league in the world, there are money spinning deals in play. A major part of this league is dominated by talk of how much the top players earn and this season will not be any different, as it continues to bring together some of the best players in the game of basketball.

When it comes to earnings from the NBA and associated partners, names like LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo will always spring up, as these are some of the top players in this league. However, when it comes to earnings by way of salary only, some of these names are knocked off.

For example, when it comes to analyzing the earnings banked by active players all through their careers, no player currently will match LeBron James. However, when only the expected salaries are tabulated Stephen Curry stands out at the top. Somehow, the amounts paid out in salaries play a big part in how teams perform and by extension, how their games are previewed in the NBA predictions provided by SportyTrader.

Reports have it that at least 10 NBA players are set to earn in excess of $40 million in salaries this season, so let’s see, who are the players expected to earn the most this season, by way of salary.

Stephen Curry

The Golden State Warriors player has a contract for four years with the outfit, and it is worth a staggering $215,353,664, this means his salary for the year will be $53,838,416, which dwarfs all other players’ earnings in the league. For Stephen Curry, this will be the sixth straight NBA season in which he will top the earnings list. His salary is well supported by his profile; Steph Curry has bagged the NBA title four different times – in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022. He was also the NBA Finals MVP in 2022 and has twice been named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player, in 2015 and 2016.

Russell Westbrook

Los Angeles Lakers’ Russel Westbrook is the other top earner in the NBA. He is expected to bank at least $41,358,814 in the 2022/23 NBA season. He is on a five-year contract with the LA Lakers, worth $206,794,070 in total. Westbrook’s experience warrants the high salary he is set to earn. He may be a one-time MVP, in 2017, but he has had nine appearances in the NBA All-Star team between 2011 all the way to 2020. At 33 years, he still has much time to build on his profile.

LeBron James

Such a list can never be complete without LeBron James’ name. One of the easily recognizable players in the NBA, LeBron is termed the richest in the league, but also commands a high salary from his team, LA Lakers. LeBron is on a two year contract worth a total of $85,655,532, which will see him earn $42,827,766 for the year.
