In other news, however, Draymond Green will be returning to the Golden State Warriors on Thursday according to Steve Kerr, the franchise head coach, following their victory against Portland Trail Blazers in a preseason game on Tuesday night.

Green dismissal from his team was after his altercation with teammate Jordan Poole last week. The 32-year-old forward was only fined for that altercation but not suspended, which was first considered.

Speaking to the media, Kerr said:

“This is the biggest crisis that we’ve had since I’ve been the coach here. It’s really serious stuff. We’re not perfect. … But we’re going to lean on the experience that we have together and trust that this is the best decision for our team. We have a lot of work to do. All of us.”

The head coach is expecting Green to play in the Warriors’ last preseason game against the Denver Nuggets on Friday, and he will also be made available for the opening game on October 18.

It was revealed that Poole, who was hit by Green during practice, was consulted before a decision was made on the situation along with Stephen Curry and other players. Poole was involved in many meetings with Kerr and the front office, and also had to meet with Green. According to Kerr, Poole was “willing to move forward and willing to get back out on the floor with Draymond and go to work.”
