Brooklyn Nets Land Myles Turner

Indiana Pacers Receive: G/F Joe Harris, 2029 First-Round Pick (BKN)
Brooklyn Nets Receive: C Myles Turner

If you want to overreact, you shouldn’t look much further than last night’s Nets/Pelicans game.

The Brooklyn Nets fell to the Pelicans by a final tally of 130-108. Nobody should be surprised if the Pelicans are an offensively elite team in 2022-23.

Nonetheless, the Nets are supposed to be contenders. This was a bad loss for a team that almost fell apart this summer.

Realistically, the Nets could use a new center. Nic Claxton is an intriguing multi-positional defender, but perhaps a more traditional drop coverage big man could shore up this defense. Of course, with Ben Simmons on the roster, that player would need to be someone who spaces the floor.

In other words, Myles Turner remains a perfect target for the Brooklyn Nets. We’re not the first to link the two – the pairing just makes good sense. Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers shouldn’t hesitate to part with Turner for a first-round pick.

After all, they should be hoping to replace him with Victor Wembanyama in a year’s time anyway.
