The 2022-23 NBA season got underway Tuesday night with a doubleheader as the Philadelphia 76ers visited the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers traveled to take on the Golden State Warriors. The action continues Wednesday night in the first full slate of the season.

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Toronto Raptors are matching up in a game that pits two of the up-and-coming teams in the Eastern Conference against each other. Cleveland is looking to build upon last season’s 44-win season and made a huge splash this offseason, acquiring Donovan Mitchell from the Utah Jazz.

The Raptors, who shocked a lot of people by finishing as the fifth seed last season, are looking to have another strong season. They kept virtually the same rotation from last season, with Otto Porter Jr. being their biggest acquisition in free agency.

The Cavaliers should have pretty much their entire rotation ready to go for opening night. Ricky Rubio will be an important part of the rotation once he is healthy, but they will have everyone they expected to have in their rotation for the first game of the season. It will be the debut of Donovan Mitchell, which is highly anticipated.

The Raptors, who are already undersized, could be without their backup big men, Khem Birch and Chris Boucher. That would be a tough blow as the Cavaliers are one of the few teams in the NBA that still use traditional power forwards and centers.
