If this trade transpired, it wouldn’t exactly grab headlines like a Harden deal. On the other hand, it could move the needle. 

Curry is a better shooter than Allen. That’s true on multiple levels. He shoots a higher percentage from long range, but he’s also a better shooter off the catch, off the dribble, in motion, and from a standstill position. 

He’s just a better shooter. Really, that’s the whole justification here. Putting quality three-point threats around Giannis Antetokounmpo cannot possibly be a bad idea. 

Meanwhile, Allen is the stronger defender. That’s fine.
