The Golden State Warriors have been busy before the NBA contract extension deadline after getting a deal done with Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Wiggins and the Warriors agreed on a four-year, $109 million contract extension. His agreement came after Golden State also got a four-year deal done with Poole worth up to $140 million.

“Golden State Warriors All-Star forward Andrew Wiggins has agreed to a four-year, $109 million contract extension, his agents, Drew Morrison and Steven Heumann of CAA Sports, told ESPN on Saturday.”

After the contract extension, Wiggins is now signed with the Warriors for the next five years and will earn $143 million. He is set to earn $33.6 million in the final year of his current five-year, $147.7 million contract.

Wiggins played an instrumental role in the Warriors’ championship run. He averaged 17.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 73 regular season appearances — earning him an All-Star starter nomination. He shot an impressive 46.6 percent from the floor and 39.3 percent from 3-point range.

Wiggins followed up his regular season by maintaining averages of 16.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 22 playoff performances. What didn’t show in the box score he often guarded the opposing initiator while also being an important relief option in the team’s offense.
