Why The Los Angeles Lakers Do The Deal 

Of all the potential Westbrook suitors, the Magic are not a commonly cited one. On the other hand, the Indiana Pacers are. 

Largely, that’s due to Myles Turner’s fit with the squad. Putting a big man who can space the floor and defend the paint next to Anthony Davis has obvious appeal. Lakers fans: can we interest you in Mo Bamba? 

Otherwise, the Lakers are getting plenty of quality pieces here. Gary Harris is a 3-and-D guard who’ll complement any star, and Terrance Ross is a seasoned veteran who can create his own offense. 

If the Magic have any reservations here, they may have to do with parting with Chuma Okeke. He’s still young at 24, and he’s a versatile defensive forward with an endless motor.

At the same time, between Banchero and Wagner, the Magic may have too little time in their rotation for Okeke anyway. If they feel they can spare him, the Lakers could certainly use him.
