Why The Cleveland Cavaliers Do The Deal
Realistically, the Cavaliers are mostly interested in Burks here too. In many respects, this deal is Burks and salary filler for Love.
For the Cavaliers, that’s a good deal. After all, they badly need a wing. Burks might be the perfect one for them. He’s a solid 3-and-D player who can set up teammates on occasion as well.
On the other hand, Noel could be a solid backup big man here. After Jarrett Allen, the rotation gets pretty thin. Noel would be a significant upgrade over Robin Lopez. All told, he should be of more use to the Cavs than the Pistons.
As for Walker – he may not crack this team’s rotation. All the same, he could. We shouldn’t rule it out – a bounce-back year from the former All-Star could have the Cavaliers winning this deal by a comfortable margin.
