Fair enough. That would be another viable route for the Suns to take here. More often than not, that’s how superstar trades go in the modern NBA. At the same time, there’s no rule saying it’s how they have to look, either.
If Brown is unhappy in Boston, this could make sense for the Suns. Yes, it’s roughly a lateral move. Sometimes, when things aren’t working, it’s worth shaking them up for the sake of change.
For what it’s worth, Brown is a better athlete than Booker, and (perhaps owing to that fact) a better defender as well. On the other hand, he’s not as skilled offensively. All told, he’s about roughly as impactful.

For a team that just won 64 games, that’ll do. This doesn’t make sense for the Suns unless both of these locker rooms are dysfunctional, but if they are, it could be a smart move for them. What does it do for the Celtics?
