It is pretty common for NBA teammates to get into each other during training camp. Some of the practices are tense as there is a mix of established veterans, young players looking to cement their role on the team and players just looking to earn a spot on the roster.
Some dustups are expected, but what reportedly went on at training camp with the Golden State Warriors this week is certainly unheralded. According to Shams Charania, Anthony Slater and more at The Athletic, there was a physical altercation at practice Wednesday morning after the team returned from the NBA Japan Games 2022.
The altercation was reportedly between Draymond Green and Jordan Poole with Green potentially facing disciplinary action for his role. The two players were reportedly verbally sparring and pushing each other before things escalated.
The two went chest-to-chest and Green reportedly threw a punch at Poole that connected. The two were quickly separated and luckily Poole was not injured by Green making contact with him. He was able to finish his workout following the incident, which caused the practice to be stopped and an effort to settle nerves in the locker room area occurred.

The verbal altercations between the two are nothing new as they regularly go at each other. However, this time it is believed that management and leadership believe that Green crossed a line and that internal discipline will be coming.
Green is known as a fierce competitor and regularly draws technical fouls from getting into it with referees. He is not afraid to challenge his teammates in practices and games, looking to light a fire underneath them.

While this could have been what he was looking to achieve once again with Poole, it sounds as if he took things too far and will have to pay the consequences for his actions. Some level of punishment is likely coming as the Warriors will not accept that level of behavior.
