The 2022 NBA offseason produced plenty of player movement as multiple All-Stars got traded. While those deals and other trade rumors dominated the headlines, some transactions flew under the radar and could have a major impact on teams during the upcoming season.

Recently the annual NBA App GM survey was given and numerous questions were answered about the offseason and upcoming season. One of the questions that were asked was what the most underrated move of the offseason was. Unsurprisingly, there were plenty of answers given.

Topping the list was the Boston Celtics trade for Malcolm Brogdon. Looking to shore up their backcourt for what they hope is another deep playoff run, the Celtics landed Brogdon from the Indiana Pacers in exchange for Daniel Theis, Aaron Nesmith, Malik Fitts, Juwan Morgan, Nik Stauskas and a 2023 first-round pick.

That move received 28 percent of the vote, which was also how much the top vote-getter in 2021, the trade of Larry Nance Jr., received. In second place this year, there was a tie between P.J. Tucker and John Wall.

Tucker joined the Philadelphia 76ers, as Daryl Morey is creating the Philadelphia Rockets with the moves that he has made this offseason. After securing a buyout from the Houston Rockets, Wall signed with the LA Clippers, who have the deepest roster in the NBA.

In fourth place, we head back to Philadelphia. While De’Anthony Melton never played for the Rockets and Morey previously, he fills a big void on the team as a backup point guard. He was acquired from the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for Danny Green and a 2022 first-round pick.

Rounding out the top five was one of the most surprising moves of the offseason. The Detroit Pistons came out of nowhere to acquire Bojan Bogdanovic from the Utah Jazz despite many contenders pushing to trade for him. He will provide a significant boost to their 3-point shooting, something they desperately needed.

There were plenty of other transactions that received votes as well. The trade between the Washington Wizards and Denver Nuggets was seen as a win for both teams. Monte Morris and Will Barton headed to the nation’s capital, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope went to the Mile High City.

The Brooklyn Nets also made two appearances on the list. Their acquisition of Royce O’Neale was recognized in addition to them being able to keep their All-Star duo of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving for one more season.

The Minnesota Timberwolves and Atlanta Hawks acquired All-Stars Rudy Gobert and Dejounte Murray and both moves made the list as well. Rounding things out was Jerami Grant landing with the Portland Trail Blazers and Kevin Huerter landing with the Sacramento Kings.
