After all, this organization dragged its feet before finally offering Ayton a max extension on his rookie contract. In fact, if they hadn’t had a Pacers offer to match, who knows? These two sides may still be negotiating.
The Suns shouldn’t rush to shop Ayton. In fact, they can’t: having offered him that extension, he’s not eligible to be traded until January 15th. If this situation still appears to be toxic by then, is this a good deal for the Suns?
