Why The Denver Nuggets Do The Deal
Some may not love LeVert’s fit with these Nuggets. It is true that LeVert is generally an inconsistent three-point shooter. With that said, so is Gordon.
By those criteria alone, neither is an optimal fit for Jokic. On the other hand, Gordon’s abilities as a cutter and a lob threat may make him a better one. Here’s the thing: in an ideal world, the Nuggets wouldn’t need LeVert to fit with Jokic, at all.
We’d have the Nuggets landing their new sixth man here. In all likelihood, the Nuggets would run a starting lineup of Jokic, Michael Porter Jr., Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Bruce Brown, and Jamal Murray. That’s a nice, balanced starting lineup.
Having a quality sixth man would only make it stronger. LeVert qualifies. He may be prone to bouts of inefficiency, but plenty of great sixth men have been throughout NBA history.
