Why The LA Clippers Do The Deal
In the modern NBA, 3-and-D players are all the rage. Following this deal, the Clippers will be at the forefront of the trend.
After all, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are both 3-and-D players. They just happen to be elite shot creators as well. With two star players who fit that criteria, you’d think maybe the Clippers would be satisfied in that department.
Think about. The Clippers also boast Robert Covington and Nic Batum. Even Norman Powell is a solid defender and an excellent floor spacer. On the other hand, 3-and-D players don’t have to be wings, either.
Myles Turner is proof of that. He’s the rare NBA big who spaces the floor and defends the rim. Do us a favor. Imagine a Turner/Covington/Leonard/George/John Wall lineup.

Wall is the only player who couldn’t be described as a 3-and-D. Now, we have questions: how do you score on that line-up, and just as importantly, how do you defend against it?
Maybe it isn’t so hard to get something for someone who has everything, after all – just get them more.
