1. Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cleveland Cavaliers made a splash this offseason when they acquired Donovan Mitchell from the Utah Jazz in a blockbuster trade. An already ascending Cavaliers team will be given a jolt by the Mitchell addition and should be contending for a spot outside of the NBA Play-In Tournament this season.
The only thing that the Cleveland Cavaliers are missing now is another capable player on the wing. They hope that Isaac Okoro can turn into that player and still have Caris LeVert on the roster. If they are taking a long-term look at things, they could have their eyes set on Giannis Antetokounmpo.
By the time he is a free agent, Mitchell, Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen, and Evan Mobley will either have just entered or still will be on the doorstep of their primes. Mitchell will be 29 in three years, while Garland will be 25, Allen 27, and Mobley 24. Antetokounmpo will be 30 going on 31 and should still have plenty of prime years left ahead of him.
Allen and Garland will be under contract by the time that Antetokounmpo can be hitting free agency. Mitchell has a player option that offseason himself and Mobley could be a restricted free agent depending on how rookie extension talks go.
