Somehow, it still feels strange to talk about Russell Westbrook this way. We just said he has very little trade value in 2022. It wasn’t so long ago that teams would give up the farm to add him to their roster. 

At that time, Westbrook was busy reinventing the triple-double and racking up MVP votes. His ability to reach previously unseen statistical highs was unparalleled. 

Unfortunately, sometimes, the higher you ascend, the more drastically you fall. 

By now, Westbrook’s style is largely dismissed as not being conducive to winning. He’ll still get his stats, but they appear to come at the expense of winning.
