1. San Antonio Spurs
The San Antonio Spurs are rebuilding for the first time in franchise history. They have missed the playoffs three consecutive years and are looking like it will be four after this season, which is the longest drought in the history of the franchise.
After trading All-Star point guard Dejounte Murray this offseason to the Atlanta Hawks, the goal is clear for San Antonio; they want to be in as good of a position as possible to land a top pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. That is when blue chip prospects Victor Wembanyama and Scoot Henderson will be eligible to be selected.
If the San Antonio Spurs are lucky enough to land either of those players, they should immediately get on the phone with the Charlotte Hornets and inquire about trading for LaMelo Ball. Having one of Wembanyama and Henderson as the backbone of the franchise with Ball should yield some incredible results for a long time.
The team already has one potential building block in place in Keldon Johnson, who signed a four-year, $74 million rookie extension this offseason. There are a ton of high-upside, young players on the roster right now as well that San Antonio hopes can develop.

If any of those players reach All-Star status, the San Antonio Spurs will be right back to contending in no time. Having a star point guard such as Ball leading the way would be the last piece to bring it all together.
