Toronto Raptors Receive: F Kevin Durant
Brooklyn Nets Receive: G Gary Trent Jr., F OG Anunoby, C Khem Birch, 2023 First-Round Pick, 2025 First-Round Pick, 2027 First-Round Pick, 2024 Pick Swap and 2026 Pick Swap
The Brooklyn Nets were seeking a lot in return for Kevin Durant when they fielded calls earlier in the offseason. The asking price was so high that many questioned if they really wanted to trade him. While no deal came to fruition then, these trade talks could be revisited down the line.
It isn’t cheap, but the Raptors land their man, adding Durant to the lineup and becoming instant contenders in the Eastern Conference. They are parting ways with multiple rotation players to get the deal done.
Looking for All-Star level talent, the Nets get two in this exchange. Gary Trent Jr. is 23 years old and already knocking on the door as a 20-point per game scorer with high-volume usage from 3-point range.
OG Anunoby is already an elite 3-and-D player and his ceiling is that of a star. He needs to improve with the ball in his hands but possesses the prototypical size teams are looking for in potential franchise two-way wings.
