Firstly, we should add that we don’t really know if Saric will be a rotation player in 2022-23. He’s coming off of a major injury, so who could say what he’s going to look like? 

He happens to hold particular value to the Kings for his ability to maximize Fox. By contrast, he’s expendable to Phoenix in light of the player they’re landing here. 

Barnes won’t be the best 3-and-D wing on this roster, but he doesn’t have to be. That honor goes to Mikal Bridges – in fact, he’s one of the best 3-and-D wings in the NBA. 

What Barnes can be in the Valley is a third or fourth offensive option. His presence would significantly diversify the Suns’ attack. In the absence of a bonafide, top-5 offensive superstar, that’s invaluable for this group. They may not have a top-5 player, but they’d have one of the deepest teams in the league.

For that matter, they’d still have, arguably, the best collection of 3-and-D wings in the NBA.
