For those who keep a close eye on recent NBA developments, it’s not hard to make linkages between the players in this deal. In fact, it’s only hard to decide where to start. 

Sabonis and Turner were teammates in Indiana. For years, trade rumours circled the pair. Given that each is optimized at the centre position, they were probably never a viable pairing. 

Last season, the Pacers finally split them up, sending Domantas Sabonis to the Sacramento Kings. With that said, we shouldn’t mistake that decision as a firm commitment to Turner.

After all, the Pacers made Deandre Ayton a max rookie extension offer this summer.
