Denver Nuggets Receive: G Derrick Rose, G/F Evan Fournier, G/F Cam Reddish, 2023 First-Round Pick (DAL via NYK)
New York Knicks Receive: F Michael Porter Jr.
With all of that said, giving up on Porter Jr. won’t be easy for this organization.
When healthy, Porter Jr. has flashed undeniable star potential. In fact, he’s one of the sweetest shooting forwards in the NBA. Porter Jr. can shoot off the dribble or catch, and at 6’10, it won’t be easy to contest him in either situation.
Moreover, that skillset makes him a perfect fit alongside Nikola Jokic. With the reigning MVP’s ability to draw a double team on the low block, and use his prodigious passing vision to find the open man, an elite floor spacing wing makes for an ideal co-star.
The Nuggets obviously have a vision here. Sometimes, a vision is difficult to actualize.
