Of course, no matter how far the league leans into three-point shooting, it’ll never be the most important component of NBA offense. Rim pressure reigns supreme, and in all likelihood, it always will. 

Think about it. What’s the easiest shot in basketball? No matter what your skill level is, go outside, find a hoop and get some attempts up. If you hit more threes than you do dunks and or layups, you should probably get auditioning for NBA teams. 

Unless you’re like us – in that case, you just can’t dunk in the first place. 

In all reality, threes have gained new importance because of the importance of rim pressure. Many of the league’s best teams thrive because they have star players who can create dunks and layups at will.
