With less than a month until training camps get underway in the NBA, teams are gearing up to make some final moves to their roster. While most of the heavy lifting has been done, there are still a few players that seem readily available on the trade market.
One of those players could be Indiana Pacers center, Myles Turner. Turner has been on the trade block for years, something that he opened up about earlier this offseason. He said that is numb to the rumors now after dealing with them for so many years and whatever happens, happens.
Turner seemed destined to be traded ahead of the deadline in February, but a foot injury derailed any negotiations that were being held. Teams didn’t want to trade assets for a player that was without a timetable to return and those worries came to fruition; Turner ended up missing the rest of the season because of the injury.
Now healthy and heading into the final season of his contract, Turner is ready to earn a new long-term contract this offseason. His desire to play out his contract and not sign an extension is one of the reasons that the Pacers have contemplated trading him.
