Julius Randle
If the Phoenix Suns want to make a sizable shakeup, inquiring about Julius Randle to the New York Knicks would certainly qualify.
Randle has shown what he is capable of when everything is clicking, evident by the All-Star and All-NBA Second Team nominations he received during the 2020-21 season when he won the NBA’s Most Improved Player Award.
We have also seen what happens when Randle isn’t as engaged on both ends of the court and his efficiency falls off a cliff. However, even that version of Randle, which came to play during the 2021-22 season, produced raw numbers only Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokounmpo achieved.
A reason for the fluctuations in performance could very well be that Julius Randle was overstretched in his role with the Knicks. He was the No. 1 option and while capable of carrying the team for stretches, may not be the role he is best suited for. In Phoenix, he could settle in as the No. 3 or 4 option, which would make him even more dangerous.

Julius Randle has the size to dominate on the interior, something he could be asked to do more with the Suns as they have infinitely more spacing than the Knicks ever put around him. Deandre Ayton’s ability to step out and knockdown mid-range jumpers could open up the interior for Randle’s bruising style of play to flourish.
