Jordan Clarkson
Despite finishing with the best record in the NBA during the 2021-22 season, there were some areas where the Phoenix Suns were average to below average. One of the most glaring needs was their second unit.
The Suns’ bench was middle of the road throughout last season. They ranked 18th in points per game and 15th in assists per game. When your starting lineup is as good as the one that Monty Williams’ deploys, it takes a lot of pressure off of the second unit. Alas, that is something they should be looking to address.
Adding someone such as Jordan Clarkson from the Utah Jazz would certainly help. He won the Sixth Man of the Year award during the 2020-21 season, averaging 18.4 points per game that season. He is an explosive scorer that can heat up in an instant, providing a nice upgrade for the second unit.
Clarkson is also an excellent shot creator. That is actually something this roster could use more of as they rely a lot on the wizardry of Chris Paul to get the offense into position for easy baskets. Having players you can just give the ball to and watch them get to work on offense would make life easier for the team.
LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Phoenix Suns & Jordan Clarkson Updates
With the Jazz looking to rebuild, the Suns should be able to obtain Jordan Clarkson in a package built around some draft compensation. If the front office is looking to be even more aggressive, they can try and land Bojan Bogdanovic as well.
