How This Trade Impacts LA Clippers
The LA Clippers already look to have one of the best rosters in the NBA. However, there is no harm in continuing to fortify things as a lot of curveballs are thrown at teams throughout the season.
The team signed John Wall this offseason to help at the point guard position and if healthy will offer some positives. But, he and Reggie Jackson are both scoring-minded point guards, so diversifying the position would make sense. This trade with the Utah Jazz helps them accomplish that.
Mike Conley Jr. has lost a step or two at 34 years old, but can still be that floor general on both ends of the floor. He may not be as dynamic of a scorer as Jackson, but with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George back in the lineup, alongside Norman Powell, the Clippers don’t need nearly as much scoring out of the point guard spot.
The defensive upgrade that Conley would provide and the playmaking would be more than enough to make up for the difference in scoring. Conley is also careful with the ball in his hands, averaging only 1.7 turnovers per game last season, and a proven spot-up 3-point shooter, something else that he is better than Jackson at.

Terence Mann, Amir Coffey and Brandon Boston Jr. are three players that can step into a larger role with no issues.
