It’s been a long summer for NBA fans. Realistically, we can blame it on two parties: the Utah Jazz and Kevin Durant.
After all, the Jazz already brokered a massive trade this summer. They moved star big man Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for, among some players, four unprotected first-round picks.
It was such a big return that some speculate that it broke the trade market.
None of which boded well for a Kevin Durant deal. A broken market with such a valuable asset available in it can only do one thing:

That’s exactly what’s happened since. Now, with Durant off the market, the floodgates could open a little bit. This deal has the two teams who’d previously had the market stalled opening them. Does this make sense for both sides?
