Los Angeles Lakers
Los Angeles Lakers Receive: F/C Julius Randle, G Mike Conley, G/F Cam Reddish
Utah Jazz Receive: G Russell Westbrook, 2023 First-Round Pick (NYK), 2023 First-Round Pick (DAL via NYK), 2025 First-Round Pick (NYK), 2027 First-Round Pick (NYK), 2027 First-Round Pick (LAL), 2029 First-Round Pick (LAL)
New York Knicks Receive: G Donovan Mitchell
Obviously, we had to squeeze a Mitchell package in here.
The rumors linking him to the New York Knicks are simply too prominent to ignore. If the Knicks are absolutely serious about landing Mitchell, they’ll have to surrender a lot of value.
After all, it’s been rumored that Jazz General Manager Danny Ainge is seeking seven first-round picks for his star guard.
On a related note: he probably won’t get them. Simply put, that’s too much to ask. Still, Ainge ought to settle for six. By bringing the Los Angeles Lakers into the fold, the Knicks are able to send him that much without giving it up all on their own.
LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Los Angeles Lakers & New York Knicks Updates
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers should be too desperate to improve on their 2021-22 debacle to not make this move. They’ll certainly be hoping Randle can duplicate his 2020-21 All-NBA performance, but if he can even split the difference between his last two seasons, he’ll improve the Lakers.
If he can edge closer to matching 2020-21, who knows how far they could go next season?
