The NBA has seen some incredible players throughout its existence. One of the best to ever step on the floor was Kobe Bryant. Bryant was selected No. 13 overall in the 1996 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Hornets, but never actually suited up for them. He was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers on July 11th, 1996 in exchange for Vlade Divac; the rest is history.

Bryant would spend his entire 20-season Hall of Fame career with the purple and gold. His resume is as impressive as anyone’s in the history of the game. He was an 18-time All-Star, named to the All-NBA team 15 times, All-Defensive team 12 times and won five NBA Championships. Bryant was named the MVP of those finals twice as well.

There were not many players as fierce as Bryant on the court as he is likely the closest we have ever seen to Michael Jordan. You could see Jordan in some of the things that Bryant did on the court as they are the two greatest shooting guards in the history of basketball.

That kill instinct would sometimes rub teammates the wrong way but it is what drove Bryant to the heights that he achieved. Since his unfortunate passing on January 26th, 2020, August 24th, the day after his birthday, has unofficially become Kobe Bryant day.

Bryant had two Hall of Fame careers, one wearing No. 8 to start things off and then No. 24 during the second half of his career. That is why 8-24 is recognized for him and some of his remarkable achievements are shared.

One of the most impressive things that he did was score in bunches. He had an 81-point game in his career, the second most after the 100 that Wilt Chamberlain scored. Bryant could pretty much score whenever he wanted and on whoever was matched up against him.

He could fill it up and StatMuse found an interesting tidbit about him. Bryant had more 60-point games in his career than Jordan, Kevin Durant, LeBron James and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar combined.

That is quite an impressive feat. Abdul-Jabbar is the highest-scoring player in the history of professional basketball, while James is second and Jordan is fifth. Durant is currently 24th, but he will continue moving up that list as he has plenty of great seasons ahead of him.

Kobe Bryant is fourth on that list, but no one had as many explosive scoring games as he did.
