By that measure, the Los Angeles Lakers had a disastrous 2021-22 season. After winning 33 games, they didn’t even qualify for the play-in tournament. This summer, they’ll have to make changes at any cost.

That cost could be two future first-round picks. With the New Orleans Pelicans owning their first-round picks into the immediate future, they won’t be able to spend much more.
