The Los Angeles Lakers haven’t undergone much change this NBA offseason despite underachieving so much last season. One thing is clear: they need more competent perimeter play.
The Lakers certainly entered 2021-22 with star power. Between LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook, they may have had the most name recognition in the NBA.
Still, a 33-win season, to put it politely, fell short of expectations.
Meanwhile, the Bulls had their own flashy names between Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, and Nikola Vucevic. Their 46 wins and a first-round exit weren’t the colossal failures that the Lakers’ season was, but they surely had their sights set higher.

Either team could stand to make some changes this summer. For the Bulls, they added an abundance of guards in recent years — including Goran Dragic this offseason — and could use some balance.
