The Toronto Raptors are one of the few teams in the league who could still be in the Kevin Durant sweepstakes. They have a plethora of young talent and retain the rights to all of their own future first-round picks.
It’s been rumored that the Toronto Raptors and the Brooklyn Nets have had initial discussions surrounding a possible KD trade, although Toronto has Scottie Barnes marked as untouchable in any deal, and the Florida State product would be the preferred centerpiece for the Nets.
If they strike out on Durant because they want to keep Barnes, perhaps they can shift focus and address a major need from last season instead by helping a different team land the Slim Reaper.
While helping a conference competitor acquire one of the most dangerous scorers in NBA history might seem counterproductive, bringing in Bam Adebayo would truly make the Raptors one of the most complete and dangerous teams in the entire league.

Bam is still young enough to grow alongside Scottie Barnes, even if the Toronto Raptors run into trouble against a Kevin Durant-led Heat squad in next year’s playoffs as a result of making a deal with the devil (Pat Riley). Toronto obviously needed to acquire some talent at center this summer, but trading for Bam Adebayo would be an answer that nobody saw coming.
