How This Deal Impacts Charlotte Hornets
The Charlotte Hornets have made some good progress the last few seasons. They increased their win total by 10 wins this past season, but they have been unable to get over the hump to break through and earn a postseason spot. They have been blown out in the first game of the NBA Play-In Tournament twice.
Looking to become a more dangerous team, they would likely be interested in acquiring a star of Anthony Davis’ caliber. With Miles Bridges’ NBA career up in the air, the Hornets should be aggressively pursuing other options and Davis would be an excellent replacement.
Davis would provide the team with a versatile anchor defensively, something they are currently lacking. On offense, he provides a go-to option in the halfcourt that can create offense for himself and his teammates.
The Hornets should be doing everything they can to find a running mate for LaMelo Ball and Davis would suffice. They would have two stars as the foundation of the franchise to build the roster around.

Acquiring Davis isn’t cheap, as it will take a lot of assets. However, very rarely does a player of Davis’ caliber come available. He very likely isn’t on the trade block, but if given a chance to land him, you pretty much go all in.
Talen Horton-Tucker struggled last season in a bigger role but is someone that possesses a good amount of upside. Still only 21 years old, he has the tools to become a lockdown defender and is already a solid secondary playmaker. If he can figure out his jump shot, his production would take a huge leap.
