Indiana Pacers Receive: G/F Duncan Robinson, 2023 First-Round Pick (MIA)
Miami Heat Receive: C Myles Turner
Expanding on our conversation about Twin Towers, here’s a follow-up question: would the Heat really even be assembling a modern one here?
Put differently – is Bam Adebayo really a center? Sure, he’s been playing the position for a while. Has that been out of necessity more than a preference?
For our money, he’s a combo big. Adebayo stands roughly 6’9. In the age of small-ball, that certainly qualifies him for minutes at the center spot. Realistically, Adebayo has thrived at the position, so the answer is yes, he’s a 5.
Really, then, the question is this: could he be an even better 4? Adebayo has made his name off of defensive versatility. His ability to defend the perimeter and protect the rim is special.

One wonders if he’d thrive as a free safety alongside a more traditional rim protector.
Is it worth a first-round pick for the Heat to find out?
