Why The Dallas Mavericks Do The Deal
In all honesty, Jordan Clarkson may not be the perfect secondary ball-handler for this Dallas Mavericks team.
Don’t get us wrong – Clarkson is talented. He’s a gifted ball-handler who can get his shot off against virtually any defensive coverage. He can create shots for himself, but there would be fair concerns about his value when it’s Doncic’s time to create.
After all, Clarkson shot the ball poorly from distance in 2021-22. Moreover, the Jazz struggled when he and Mitchell shared the floor. Why wouldn’t he have the same issues with Doncic?
Well, the Mavericks have to do something. Consider this a desperation move.

In other words, it’s significantly better than nothing.
