Why The Sacramento Kings Do The Deal
Consider this a ringing endorsement of Murray. We liked what we saw from him in Summer League so much that we’ve got him replacing an NBA veteran.
Murray looks like a 3-and-D forward who can create his own looks when asked to as well. In other words, he looks a lot like Harrison Barnes.
Suppose Murray is ready to make up roughly 80% of Barnes’ production. In that event, this is a worthwhile deal for the Kings. They add some much-needed, elite floor-spacing in both Kennard and Coffey.
The former is one of the best motion shooters in the NBA. Kennard can catch and shoot under any circumstances. Coffey is not as fluid a three-point weapon, but he shoots efficiently. More important, he doubles as a plus defender.

This is a risky move for the Kings. They’re putting a lot on the shoulders of a rookie here. With that said, if he can handle it, this deal should edge them closer to breaking that unfortunate playoff drought.
