Why The Washington Wizards Do The Deal
In some respects, Lonzo Ball may actually be the perfect point guard to pair with a traditional two-guard.
Ball has developed into one of the best off-ball point guards in the NBA. His catch-and-shoot efficiency from three-point range is among the best in the NBA. Meanwhile, so is his point-of-attack defense.
After all, Beal is a solid defender, but it’s not a particular strength of his either. Furthermore, given his vast offensive responsibility, it wouldn’t hurt to play alongside a floor general who can help conserve his energy on that end.
Finally, Ball’s elite floor vision will allow him to find Beal in his spots. Ball may not create many advantages in the half-court, but he’ll put his running mate in the best positions to do so. When that running mate is Beal, that’s a recipe for a dynamic offensive attack.
