For a long time, that archetype ruled the day in the NBA. In the days of Michael Jordan, the shooting guard was widely seen as the most reliable star player. Those days are long gone.
After all, in 2022, point guards are shooting guards. Sometimes, power forwards are point guards. It’s the positionless era of basketball – players are no longer beholden to predetermined positional requirements.
