The Chicago Bulls obviously need a defensive-minded anchor to play behind Nikola Vucevic, as the sweet-shooting European isn’t much of a deterrent inside.
Giannis and the Milwaukee Bucks put Chicago’s lack of rim protection on full display in the first round of last year’s playoffs, as they repeatedly pummeled the Bulls’ paint for easy baskets.
Unlike the Toronto Raptors, Chicago did make a move to try to address their hole in the middle by signing former Brooklyn Net, Andre Drummond. Drummond was solid as an interior finisher and glass-cleaner for both the Nets and the Philadelphia 76ers last season.
While he’s improved on the defensive side of the ball, as well, he’s still far from a positive contributor on that end of the court.

With Hassan Whiteside still hanging around, waiting for a deal and the Bulls holding two open roster spots, Chicago should look to add the former All-Defensive team member for a veteran minimum deal. With him in tow, the Chicago Bulls will have turned size from a glaring weakness into a bolstering surplus within one summer.
