The Miami Heat have become one of the premiere destinations for NBA players. Usually, they’re a major player in free agency and in the trade market.
As a result, the Heat are often linked to the league’s biggest names. If a star player is available, generally speaking, someone out there has them taking their talents to South Beach.
Yet, it can’t always work out for Miami. If they don’t have the cap space to sign a free agent or the assets to swing a big trade, they can’t get their guy. That’s a reality the organization has had to deal with this summer.
After all, plenty have expected the Heat to pursue one of Kevin Durant or Donovan Mitchell. With that said, unless they’re willing to trade Bam Adebayo, they don’t have the ammunition to do it.
