The Collin Sexton saga has worn on for too long. It’s obvious that the Cleveland Cavaliers don’t want him – if they did, they’d have paid him by now.

Instead, Sexton remains a restricted free agent. This is a 23-year-old who’s only one season removed from averaging 24.3 efficient points per game. Surely, someone could use him.

We think the Dallas Mavericks would be a great fit. They badly need a secondary ball-handler behind Luka Doncic. Meanwhile, given Doncic’s elite playmaking, pairing him with a score-first guard makes particular sense.

So, for that matter, does flipping a player they’re out on for a useful veteran and a first-round pick from the Cavs’ point of view. Like Sexton, Hardaway Jr. missed most of 2021-22 with injury.
